This Startup Has Created a Fitbit for Tesla

July 15, 2019

Love Tesla or hate it, the company drives expectations in the electric car industry (no pun intended). Many talk about the Tesla brand and Elon Musk as though they are part of a cult; so what is it that makes Tesla so great?

A lot of people talk about the cars’ amazing acceleration that makes them a joy to drive. Some of the best real time insights into how the global fleet of electric vehicles perform perhaps comes through the lens of TezLab, a 2-year old startup in Brooklyn, NYC, that creates new features for Tesla drivers who are obsessed with how their electric vehicle performs.

Tezlab is like a Fitbit for a vehicle. What is a Fitbit you say? It’s a watch that keeps track of your fitness and how many steps you take in a day. When you download the Tezlab app, you can track the efficiency of your Tesla, total trip miles, and also use it to unlock certain control features of the car, such as locking and unlocking the doors, heating and AC.

The best news? There is even a gamification option for those interested in collecting points. Earn badges for hitting milestones or completing tasks.
